The hits just keep on coming for Andre Bauer. We just sent out this email to our grassroots supporters on learning the news that GOP Gov candidate Andre Bauer has hired GOP political operative Chip Saltsman to work with his campaign. Not familiar with Chip? Keep reading...
Friends,
We just got word that, in an attempt to give his campaign for governor a boost, Lt. Governor Andre Bauer has hired GOP political operative Chip Saltsman. That's right, the same Chip Saltsman who was forced to drop his bid to become chair of the GOP after it was discovered that he sent out CDs to Republican friends featuring a song entitled, "Barack the Magic Negro" as Christmas presents shortly after President Obama's election--a stunt that even Newt Gingrich called "inappropriate."1
Like most people, we thought we had heard the last of Chip back then. After all, who would want to work with someone who thought such racist 'humor' was anything but revolting?
But then again, this is Andre Bauer we're talking about.
Join us today to demand Andre Bauer reject the politics of the past and fire Chip Saltsman.
This is the same Andre Bauer who repeatedly referred to South Carolinians receiving government assistance as "stray animals," saying the state should reduce aid programs so that the South Carolina's poorest won't "breed."
But, unlike Chip, Andre wasn't joking.
And just like Chip, Andre never apologized.
So why do we keep giving Andre Bauer a pass? How many second chances will Andre Bauer get?
This is the stuff we've come to expect from Rush Limbaugh and the TV talking heads. Shouldn't we expect more from our elected leaders?
South Carolinians are ready for new type of politics in Columbia that focuses on substance, not soundbites. Our leaders should inspire, not degrade. And it's more than past time to move on from old racist tactics dredged from the gutter of the past.
We deserve better. And now, more than ever, we need better.
Please, join us today and demand Andre fire Chip Saltsman.
Thank you,
South Carolina New Democrats

Wow, it's SHOCKING that the Democrat Party would take issue with a guy who lampooned the Democrat president.
I like Bauer. He speaks his mind and doesn't apologize for being politically incorrect. We need more candidates like him. He's fire on the stump too!

I couldn't care less who runs his campaign. I am voting for Bauer, and I just hope the next lieutenant gov looks out for seniors as well as Mr. Bauer has.

Andre speaks the truth that others are afraid to because it may offend people that are in the SYSTEM and don't want to better themself.
The truth will set you free.

Andre' says what he thinks. He says what the majority of South Carolinians think. He don't back down. He don't back up. We need such a man in the governor's office. GO ANDRE' I have supported him since he ran for the house-and won, the senate-and won,the Lt. gov. twice-and won. Now on to the governorship. GO ANDRE'

"Barack the Magic Negro" was actually a column written by a black, liberal L.A. Times columnist. Limbaugh did a parody of it because of the absolute absurdity of Democrats hoping and wishing for a "magic negro" to right all wrongs. Grow up and address the issues instead of being perpetually offended. That's why Andre Bauer has struck such a chord: he addresses the issues.

People need to stop dwelling on the past and put their energy towards making the future better. Andre handles things based on his morals and the needs of SC citizens. I haven't seen any other candiates running for Governor speak the truth..they all just sugar coat the hard topics, where as Andre tells it how is it. I don't know about yall, but thats the kind of person I want leading our state. Andre isn't going to let articles like this hold him back! ANDRE BAUER FOR GOVERNOR!!!!!
